Is there a way to get a college to recruit me for a sport?
Is there a way to get a college to recruit me for a sport? You should check out the NCAA website for some of the rules and regulations about college sports recruiting. You can find it at http://www.ncaa.org. Next, talk with your coach in the sport that you would want to play in college. Your coach would likely know if you have the ability to compete at the Division I, II, or III level (Division I is the most competitive and has athletic scholarships available). In Division II or III there aren't many scholarships, but colleges do offer regular financial aid for athletes. There are specific times of the year that coaches are allowed to contact prospective recruits. You should also explore attending a summer camp experience in your sport where college coaches usually visit and look for potential athletes. In order to compete in college sports, the NCAA site will tell you what type of academic information you'll need to qualify and how to go about filing for eligibility status.
